NPT UK Grant Highlights: How Our DAF Donors Are Making a Difference

Author Natalie Pinon, Director of Development

Our mission to make philanthropy more convenient and efficient for donors is at the heart of NPT UK’s work. NPT UK DAF donors continue to support a wide range of charitable causes around the world. Here are three examples of how grants from DAF donors are making a difference:

Funding Cancer Research

Cancer research provides vital support for prevention, early diagnosis, new and personalised treatments for cancer. Many cancer research organisations have suffered due to the pandemic’s impact on fundraising. A £20,000 grant was made to a national cancer research charity working to cure all types of cancer.

Supporting Global Climate and Sustainable Development Goals

Reversing deforestation and preserving forests is critical to the health of the planet as they sequester carbon, regulate global temperature, anchor fertile soil and act as flood barriers. A $4.3m grant was made to the World Economic Forum to support a new global movement to protect and restore forests.

Providing Food Security for Families in Need

In addition to the global health crisis, many low-income families in Lebanon have also been affected by a severe financial crisis. This has resulted in many people not having enough for basic needs like food. A $50,000 grant was made to support a small charity offering home cooked meals to 500 people a week in the municipality of Zahle.
